Classic Banana Bread

Delicious banana bread filled with chopped nuts and covered in a powdered sugar/orange juice glaze.

This banana bread is so delicious and perfect for an after-dinner dessert or early morning breakfast with a cup of coffee. My mom always made this recipe for my family growing up and I love it because it comes together in a matter of minutes. The hardest part of the recipe is having the patience to wait an hour as it bakes in the oven. Ugh. But it’s so worth the wait!

Banana Bread

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 or 4 mashed bananas
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup orange juice

GLAZE:

  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 or 3 tbsp orange juice

Mix ingredients together. Bake in a loaf pan for 1 hour and 10 min. at 325 degrees. Add glaze to warm bread.

Okay yall what do you say? This banana bread should be next your next baking activity if you ask me!
